Car smashes into South Albany home
An Albany woman had to be taken to the hospital this afternoon as a result of crashing her car into a house.
Police say 25-year-old Vanessa Cooper was driving a ford expedition down Odom Avenue in South Albany when she hit a stop sign, jumped a curb and plowed into the home.
Luckily no one was inside the home at the time of the accident.
Cooper was taken to phoebe for minor injuries. Police say she has a history of mental illness.
Charges are pending in the case.
