Busiest time of the year for DNR rangers
The Department of Natural Resources is out in full force this week; Thanksgiving and the days following is the busiest time of the year for DNR rangers when it comes to finding hunters in violation of the law.
One DNR ranger told FOX 31 in regards to waterfowl and duck hunting he's written a lot of warnings and citations, just in the last two days alone.
Chris Carlisle with DNR said one of the violation's he's seen had to do with hunters baiting the animals, "any time you manipulate the habitat by placing bait on the field or in the pond that's considered hunting over bait."
Other citations dealt with anything from not having the proper licenses to being out before or past legal shooting hours, which are 30 minutes before sunrise and they end at sunset.
