On Wednesday afternoon, a couple on Hall Road returned home and discovered that the front door was unlocked and their home had been burglarized.
As the couple walked through their home they observed an unknown male flee out the back door and into the woods. The victims immediately called for help.
Lowndes County Sheriff's Office deputies and officers from the Hahira Police Department quickly established a perimeter and a K-9 team began tracking the suspect for several hours.
The search was called off around 6:00 PM but a few deputies continued to patrol throughout the night.
The suspect is described as a white male, has dark hair and stands about 6'1" and was wearing khaki pants and a white tee shirt.
