Albany police held a business watch meeting Wednesday night for local owners in the community.

APD told business owners things are in pretty good shape for the month of August. They reported an increase in larcenies and a decrease in burglaries.

As of August 14th there were three reported burglaries and nine larcenies. Of those larcenies eight were shoplifting and one was theft by taking. In July of this year there wee 6 burglaries and 29 larcenies. In June, 10 burglaries and 18 larcenies.

After one business owner complained of a person shoplifting from his store every day, an official with APD stressed to him how important it is for businesses to work with the police and report every incident big and small.
