Burglar arrested after being caught in the act
UPDATED (8/4/14 11:00 a.m.)
The Lee County Sherrif's Office released the incident report Monday morning about a weekend burglary.
Saturday around 7 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Northampton Road in Leesburg.
When officers were on scene they saw a ladder going from the ground to the window on the second story residence. At the top of the ladder, Bryan Reddick was coming to the window and getting onto the ladder.
In the driveway was a tan truck with a trailer attached to it. The trailer had a motorcycle, a riding lawn mower and a brown dresser on top of it.
The officer asked Reddick what he was doing and Reddick moved his hand to his pocket. The officer advised that he move his hand away slowly and Reddick did so without trouble. The officer found a gun wrapped in a white and black bandana in his pocket.
After speaking with the deputy, Reddick says that he has been out of the residence for six months but returned to get some of his belongings and the homeowner, Michelle Reddick, does not know he was there.
Bryan Reddick was placed under arrest for two counts of Burglary 1st Degree and 1 count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of Burglary and transported to the Lee County Jail.
The victim, Michelle Reddick, arrived on the scene and went through the house with officers to see what was missing from the house. Mrs. Reddick identified that the motorcycle, the lawn mower, the dresser, a Sentry safe, shoes, closes and Bibles found in Mr. Reddick's truck and trailer were hers.
A separate firearm was found in Reddick's truck and submitted into evidence.
A man is arrested in Lee County Saturday after being caught breaking into a house in the Northhampton Subdivision.
Lee County Sheriff Deputy Chief Lewis Harris confirms with FOX 31 that a homeowner contacted to police after noticing the house had been broken into.
Deputies arrived and caught Bryan Reddick as he came out one of the windows.
