Building up Albany's economic impact
Wondering what is being built on Slappey Boulevard behind Walgreens? The wait is over.
That's because Kauffman Tires is coming to the area.
The company is a tire and oil change service for most types of cars and has been around for more than 75 years.
Planning & Development Services Senior Manager Tracy Hester says bringing new businesses to the city is a good thing because it only causes a domino effect of more to follow.
Hester says, "anytime there's vacant areas within the city or county a development like that typically spurs additional development and starts a nice economic drive."
Hester adds the project could be completed by the end of the year or beginning of next year.
Kauffman Tires has locations in six other states.
