Briquet brings relief for mosquito problems

Health Department officials provide new ways to solve mosquito problems.
Preventing mosquitoes around your home can be difficult, however the Public Health Department says they have a solution that just might do the trick.

It's called a "briquet" and it allows the owner to simply drop it into standing water around their home, killing larva that's already alive in the water from adult mosquitoes.

"You wouldn't want to put these in ponds and stuff like that, mainly for small stagnant areas of water, bird baths, things like that stuff that you can't really empty all the time," said Georgia Department of Public Health spokesman, Dewayne Tanner.

You can get a briquet at your local health department or at any local hardware store.
