Albany is known as the Quail Capital of the World.
And that's why Quail Forever has officially formed a new local chapter.
On Tuesday, in a press conference, officials announced the new chapter with the hopes of promoting and restoring the quail whose natural habitat is right here in Southwest Georgia.
Bobby McKinney, Chapter President for Quail Forever says, "economically it's very important to our region, we have a lot of commercial quail hunting facilities we want to support them and help them in any way that we can to make sure that stays a vital industry in Southwest Georgia."
There are now a total of three chapters in Southwest Georgia, and nine statewide.
