After nearly 30 years in East Albany, one location of the Boys and Girls Club closed Friday afternoon.

There are structure problems at this current facility. Now beginning August 4, the Boys and Girls Club of Albany will be opening inside several schools.

There will be a club at Morningside Elementary and Turner Elementary School. Plans are underway to put the club at Jackson Heights Elementary and Radium Springs Middle.

"It was a tough decision that we had to make," Boys and Girls Club of Albany Chief Professional Officer Bob Hutchinson said. "But it was a decision that we had to make for the safety of the kids. We didn't want any kids to get hurt in the facility."

If you have children who go to this location and have any questions, you can call the Boys and Girls Club of Albany at (229) 435-3784.
