The Boys and Girls Club held a banquet for 30 senior citizens of the Pine personal care home Wednesday night.

60 kids from the Boys and Girls Club sat behind the senior citizens appreciating their presence in the community. The banquet included songs and activities featuring the kids.

Michael Nelson, Unit Director of the Boys and Girls club, says that "this is just away for our kids to build leadership and character. Hopefully they will appreciate their grandparents even more after this."

Nelson adds this is a good time for senior citizens who don't have their families around to have some company.

The kids also made Christmas cards for the seniors to enjoy, and parents made a traditional Christmas meal for the banquet.
