Boy Scouts thank Marines with popcorn
The Boy Scouts of America distributed $8,000 worth of popcorn to the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany, GA.
Matt Hart, Scout Executive of South Georgia Council for Boy Scouts of America, says the organization started offering the "military option" to consumers four years ago.
This option allows consumers to support the scouts by buying the product and having the option to donate that product to the military.
Hart adds this is the community's way of saying "thank you" and allows the Scouts to learn how to make their own, and the importance of giving back.
The Boy Scouts handed out a variety of popcorn to the Marines while thanking them.
This year, the Scouts have raised about $200,000.
