The Dougherty County Public Library not only offers books and magazines to check out, but they also offer volunteer opportunities.
The library says anyone is welcome to drop by the Westtown Branch, located at 2124 West Waddell Avenue, to fill out an application. The application asks for your availability and the branch you prefer to volunteer at.
Volunteer duties most commonly include shelving books, straightening out books and areas and sometimes minor cleaning. They say sometimes they call in volunteers for special events.
"It is on an as-need basis, so there will be times when there is no volunteering available but we do hold your applications for about six months and we will come back to them," says Krysta Price, Library Assistant at the Westtown Branch.
