Boat ramp construction to start soon at Sutton's Landing
A new project is about to get started at a popular Southwest Georgia park.
Heavy equipment is currently out at Sutton's Landing off U.S. 19 to begin work on a new boat ramp, which will be the first public ramp on the Kinchafoonee Creek in Lee County.
Code Enforcement Officer Jim Wright said they've been monitoring every day to see when the work will start and expect it'll happen soon.
"We're going to see the state begin the process of installing the boat ramp, and once they begin, it won't take long, and we know it'll be ready by the next canoe-kayak season," he said, adding that season will begin once the weather starts to warm up again.
