Board of Education hopes for more public input in the future
The Board of Education's Finance Committee looked to the public Wednesday for input on next year's budget. The committee held two public meetings to allow the community to come out and speak up about the fiscal year 2011 budget.
Only one person took advantage of the opportunity to speak to the committee at the noon meeting. Board Chairman David Maschke say he was hoping more people would show up. "It's disappointing because we're seeking public input but this is typical of the last couple years, that people aren't coming out to the public hearings to give us any comments" says Maschke.
The Board is hoping to approve the final budget at the next budget meeting on June 24th.
