The Phoebe Putney Health System is holding a blue jean fundraiser to help Moore, Oklahoma tornado victims.

Hospital staff are offered an opportunity to wear blue jeans on Fridays if they donate $5.00 to the Phoebe Foundation for tornado victims.

This drive will go on for several weeks.

Officials say all Phoebe locations are participating in the fundraiser.

"Part of what our friends in Americus have done is say while it is right in front of you right now you can get through it and we want to be there to be of whatever support we can," said Joel Wernick, Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital CEO.

Wernick has personally contacted hospital officials at Moore Medical Center and offered his support.
