If you live in Southwest Georgia and like peanuts, you already know what this weekend means. Starting Saturday the 2013 Plains Peanut Festival kicks off with over 70 peanut vendors, a parade, and not to mention a special appearance from former President Jimmy Carter. The parade will begin at 11:00, and Festival Director Ruth Sanders says a lot will be going on in the town, so safety is extremely important. "People need to abide by the rules, you've got a parade people could get hurt. We want it to be a fun, safe day and we don't want any accidents and we've got rules for a reason," says Sanders. This is the 17th year the festival has been around. Festivities kick off at 8:00 a.m.
