Third Update (10:00 PM)
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating after a man who is suspected to be a serial bank robber is captured in southwest Georgia.
Adel Police received a call at 11:30 a.m. Thursday that a white man, who's now identified as Donald Mims, walked into the Heritage Bank on West 4th Street in Adel, demanded money from a teller, and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
"As soon as we got a description of the vehicle that he was driving which was told to us to be a maroon SUV we put a BOLO out," said Major Audie Rowe, Asst. Chief for the Adel Police Department.
Lowndes County Sheriff's Interstate Unit deputies heard the 'Be on the lookout' warning and spotted the getaway vehicle heading southbound on I-75. After a chase, the suspect surrendered.
"We had the stop sticks in front of him in the event that he did run and of course he spotted the stop sticks and he pulled over," said Sheriff Chris Pine, Lowndes County Sheriff's Department.
Inside the 2002 GMC Yukon, Prine says officers found evidence tying Mims to the Adel bank robbery. The Jacksonville, Florida resident who was taken into custody is now being tied to multiple robberies across the south.
"Jacksonville, Lake City, Live Oak, and those areas, Gainesville, so this is not his first rodeo," said Sheriff Chris Prine.

After being questioned by authorities in Lowndes County, Donald Mims was transported to the Cook County Jail.
