AT&T brings 600 jobs to Georgia

AT&T is planning to strengthen the Georgia economy by creating 600 new jobs.

A representative for the company says the majority of the jobs will be in the metro Atlanta area but there are many others scattered throughout the state.

Employment opportunities range from retail sales jobs to customer service to network organization jobs.

The move is an effort to expand AT&T's wireless broadband network.

These are terrific jobs. They pay competitive wages and offer great benefits. We really want to encourage Georgians to go the website and check it out and see if there is a position that meets what their needs are and what their background is. We're hoping to bring a lot of people on, said Bob Corney, AT&T Media Relations Representative.

The jobs are an effort to get more people on board to build and support the new infrastructure.
