Albany Technical College officially signed two Pathways Program agreements with Valdosta State University on Tuesday that will allow students to smoothly transition between the two institutions to obtain a bachelor's degree.

Students who graduate from ATC with an Associate of Applied Science in 22 different programs can now move on to VSU to get a Bachelor of Applied Science degree with a major in Technical Studies or a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership.

Both VSU programs are available online which officials say will still be able to help those who are working full-time jobs.

VSU officials say the move clears a path for students to earn a bachelor's degree as soon as they complete their associate's degree.

ATC president Dr. Anthony Parker adds that it's an excellent opportunity for the college that will provide a huge impact on the economy in Southwest Georgia with more students able to obtain a bachelor's degree.
