Albany State University had a special guest on campus Wednesday.

Students had a chance to listen to a presentation by Kirby Ferguson who came all the way from New York to talk about innovation and creativity.

Ferguson's presentation revolved around the phrase "everything is a remix." This means that all the ideas people come up with today come from something or someone, usually from the past. He made examples out of various music groups that "stole" a beat or a line from another artists' song.

Ferguson wanted students to know that it's okay to borrow ideas from the past as long as you give credit where credit is due.
