ASU recognized founder's legacy
Albany State University spent Friday celebrating the founder's legacy.
The school held several ceremonies today including a Founder's Day event where they recommitted to the school's principles.
Staff also recognized Dr. Joseph Holley's family.
"When Dr. Holley started this institution 111 years ago he did so because there were not very many opportunities for African Americans for education," said Dr. Chanta Haywood, with ASU Research and Sponsored Programs.
Founder's Day wrapped up with a fish fry the school campus.
