      ASU Police welcomes new officers

      The Albany State University Police welcomed a few new members to the department, and promoted a few current officers in a ceremony Thursday.

      In total there were six officers promoted and six officers hired including a new assistant chief of police Gregory Elder.Chief Fields said it took some time, but he feels they have assembled a great team, " It's best to have quality verse quantity, it took a while but I got the right people in place, I got a great assistant chief and I got a great senior staff, and I have a great police department overall."
