Ashburn family displaced after early morning blaze
The State Fire Marshall tells FOX 31 that the first fire started shortly after midnight and was put out quickly.
Firefighters checked for hot spots and left the scene.
Around 5:30 a.m., a second fire started and the house was fully engulfed with flames.
The house is a total loss.
Multiple Turner County Fire Departments and EMS responded to two fires at the same house in the 900 block of Industrial Drive in Ashburn around midnight and again at 5:30 a.m. Sunday.
Captain Dennis Higgins tells FOX 31 that no one was home at the time of the second fire.
No injuries have been reported; the American Red Cross was called in to assist the displaced family.
The Turner County Arson Investigator and State Fire Marshall have been called in to investigate the cause.
No foul play is suspected at this time.
