Artists say Art Park is needed for Albany to grow
Artists once again gathered downtown at the Art Park on Pine for the monthly Nights at D-Town event on Friday where artists get a chance to gain some exposure within Southwest Georgia.
Though the sudden storm kept a lot of people at home, the artists that did show say they're happy to show their art, no matter how large or small the turnout.
"Without these shows happening, we're not getting any exposure and this exposure, as small as it may be, it can still bring in people from other places to come see and check things out. We need this park, it's necessary for Albany to grow," said Eric Gordon.
Even though Albany isn't a major city, artists say no matter where you are it's still a struggle but it's all about getting out to events to gain a following.
