Four arrests have been made in the double homicide that took place on Willard Avenue in March.
Albany Police Department's Robbery/Homicide Unit was given information on May 1st that led to the arrest of four suspects May 2nd that were involved in the murders.
Two suspects, 22-year-old Maurice Jimmerson and 18-year-old Desmond Warren, were already in the Dougherty County Jail on unrelated charges.
20-year-old Harrell Lorenzo Hicks (aka Harrell Lawrence Jr.) and 20-year-old Jawaski Edward Kennedy were taken into custody without incident around 12:40 a.m. on Thursday morning both have been charged with two counts of felony murder.
Jimmerson and Warren are both facing two counts of felony murder, multiple aggravated assault charges, and possession of a firearm charges.
During an afternoon press conference Thursday, Albany police officials say they are still gathering information on this case and that is is still considered active. They added that information from the community and witnesses led to the arrests and are thankful for their information.
"The citizens may not know the deadly task that these officers face on a daily basis, the long hours they endure, what their eyes see and what they may hear to bring justice to the victims," said Nathaniel Clark, APD Deputy Chief.
Although officials say they used community help to catch the suspects, they haven't released information of whether or not a reward has been granted for tips on this case.
