Arrests made in College Park shooting

Fourth Update (2/14/14)

Police say that two more men have been arrested in connection to the College Park shootings.

Police say that William James Slaughter and Corey Allen Smith Jr. have both been charged with seven counts of aggravated assault and one count of felony burglary in the first degree. Smith Jr. also faces a count of conspiracy to commit a felony.

Third Update (2/10/14)
Police say that four men have been charged in connection to the shootings at the College Park Apartments shootings.

19-year-old Lenard Quincy Glover, 22-year-old Michael Anthony Dahiling, 22-year-old Azarius Jaleel Stephenson and 22-year-old Joshua Denzell Alford have each been charged with two counts of burglary, seven counts of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.

Second Update (2/9/14):
Around 8:30 Saturday night Albany police officers were dispatched to the College Park Apartments in reference to a shooting.
The victims stated that they heard someone knocking on the front door. Someone answered the door and two armed black males entered the residence; one had a shotgun and one had a hand gun.
The victims stated that the suspect with the shot gun began shooting and 20-year-old Rashaun Macney was struck in the leg.
The suspects fled the scene.
Macney was treated by EMS and transported to the hospital for further treatment.
The scene and this case was turned over to investigations. APD have made arrests and suspects will be charged with Aggravated Assault & 1st degree Burglary

First Update 11:30 p.m.
Albany police say that the initial investigation determined that the shooting was a result of a home invasion.

Police add that two to three suspects forced their way into four apartments and began firing shots inside.

Finally. police say that at this time, it appears nothing was taken and that suspects are in custody.

Initial Story
The Albany Police Department reponded to a call about a shooting in the 2200 block of Gillionville Road at the College Park Apartments.

A 20-year old, black male was shot in the knee and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Officers are gathering information on a possible suspect. No one is in custody at this time.

There is no information regarding the events that led to the shooting at this time.
