      Arrest made in H & K Food Mart robbery

      Albany Police Department Robbery/Homicide detectives received a tip around 9:30 Monday morning that lead to the arrest of the suspect involved in the H&K Food Mart robbery.

      Last Friday, surveillance video from the H&K Food Mart on S. Westover Blvd. showed three men entering the store demanding money. Albany Police Department Robbery/Homicide detectives received a tip around 9:30 Monday morning that lead to the arrest of the suspect involved in the H&K Food Mart robbery.

      The tip lead detectives and uniform officers to the Windover Apartment complex located in the 2300 block of West Gordon Avenue.

      When officers arrived and began searching for 28-year-old Jerome Bernard Walker, they learned that Walker had jumped out of a second floor apartment window.

      Officers pursued him on foot. Walker made his way to West Town Elementary School where he ran through the building and was later taken into custody at Gordon Park.

      Walker is being charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, false imprisonment and kidnapping.
