Armed robbery late Friday

Two suspects rob a local Albany convenience store at gunpoint, making off with an undetermined amount of cash. / MGN

Officials have released the surveillance footage from the May 10th burglary at the Save-Rite Petro Station in the hopes that it will help solve the crime.

The video shows two men run into the store dressed in all black and point handguns at the cashier while demanding money. The cashier then hands over two drawers holding an undetermined amount of cash and the men run out of the store just minutes after they came in.

Officials are asking for anyone with information on the two men or the case to please call the Albany Police Department or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS, or 8477.


Albany Police are reporting that two male suspects ran into the Save-Rite Petro Station, at 427 South Westover Boulevard at around 9:30 PM Friday night .

The two men were dressed in all black, and were each carrying a handgun. The 32-year-old female cashier reported that the suspects jumped up on the counter, pointed their weapons, and demanded money from the register.

No one was injured, and Albany Police are asking that anyone with information contact the department offices or Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS.
