Convenience stores can often be targets for robbery, which a local store on McDonald Road in Douglas experienced Monday afternoon.
"It was found that a black male entered the store, pointed a gun at the cashier, ordered her to open the cash drawer, and removed an unknown amount of money from the cash register," said Leon Whitely of the Douglas Police Department.
And with surveillance cameras rolling, police had hoped to identify the suspect, but have had trouble seeing through the suspects mask.
"The offender had his face covered with some kind of black covering; the only thing the victim could see was his eyes," said Whitely.
With the masked suspect not identified yet, the victim Jessica Harper, says it was one of the most frightening moments in her life.
"It was scary, I've never had anything like, it was just scary. He walked in the door, had the gun on me the whole time, walked behind the register, told me to open the register and get on the ground, so I did it and got on the ground," said Harper.
Douglas Police are still investigating this robbery and encourage anyone with information to contact the department at (912) 260-3600.
