Thomasville Police are currently investigating an armed robbery that took place late Friday.

Authorities say two masked men ran into the Dollar General at 1113 W. Jackson Street in Thomasville, holding a shotgun-style weapon, and demanding money from the register.

One customer ran out the back-door activating the alarm, which startled the two suspects. The robbers fled the scene without collecting any cash, and sped off in a dark colored vehicle.

Police say the store was full of customers, some of which were children, heightening their level of concern towards the case.

This is the second time in the last year that the store has been robbed by armed gunman, and authorities say the thieves made off with an undetermined amount of cash the last time.

The suspects are described as two black males in-between the ages of 20 and 30. If you have any information you're asked to call the Thomasville Police Department immediately.
