Putting a stop to underage drinking was the goal behind a forum put on Wednesday by the Center for the African American Male (CAAM) at Albany State University.

The forum explained the risk associated with the illegal purchase and consumption of alcoholic beverages concerning male youth in the Albany/Dougherty community.

CAAM Executive Director Antonio Leroy says, "I want to educate the youth in our community and fix the problem before it starts."

The students that participated in Wednesday's forum are 9th and 10th graders from area high schools including Monroe, Dougherty, Albany, and Westover.

This is also the first forum on this topic for high school students.
