      APD needs help locating hit and run suspect

      Albany police say that Solomon has been located and cited for driving without a license and leaving the scene of an accident.

      Police say that the owner of the vehicle made contact with Solomon by phone and convinced her to me with officers for an interview on South Slappey.

      Officers say she told them that she was driving the vehicle during the incident and was traveling south on South Slappey Boulevard when a group of boys ran out in front of the car. After the accident, she left the scene and returned the car to the owner in the 2400 block of Habersham.

      The Albany Police Department is looking for a suspect in a hit and run incident that happened over the holiday weekend.

      The hit and run accident happened just after midnight on the 25th on South Slappey Boulevard.

      APD says Gwantisha Solomon was driving a white 2003 Buick Century with the tag number PTP4841. Officers obtained information regarding the car and the driver by spotting a vehicle that had damage consistent with being struck. The officer followed up on the car, located it in the 2400 Block of Habersham Road and questioned the owner. The owner provided the name of the driver but the driver, Solomon, was not located.

      They're urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers and made it a point to say anyone assisting Solomon could face charges for hindering the investigation.
