APD investigating two additional overnight shootings

The Albany Police Department is investigating two other overnight shootings that happened just before and after the fatal shooting.

Officers responded to the Regency Inn on East Oglethorpe around 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning where 23-year-old Rashard Jackson told officers he was shot. Jackson says he was walking to his car when he heard gunshots and felt a burning in his left calf.

Almost an hour later, officers were called to the 1400 block of South Van Buren regarding another shooting.

27-year-old Manasseh Skinner told officers he was walking when some unknown black males jumped out of a vehicle and attacked him. Skinner said during the fight, one of the men shot him in the right hand before they fled.

Both men were transported to the hospital where they were treated and released.

Officials are investigating all three incidents to determine if they are related.
