Lieutenant O.C. Conley does not believe in letting life get in the way.

"He's really hard headed, man you just don't know," his son Derrick Hall said.

Conley has been serving with the Albany Police Department for 29 years and has spent the last seven on dialysis, but still goes to work everyday.

"I have known him for 21 years and I have never known him to come in and say I quit, I give up. He keeps going with this and so we just want to come together as an APD family and support him in the best way we could," Captain Wendy Luster said.

A GoFundMe page was created by APD with a goal set of $10,000.

Hall says he's been on the transplant list for three years, and at one point he wanted to give his father his own kidney.

Now, with the support of the community and APD, Hall is hopeful Conley will find a match.
