An 84-year-old woman has passed away after the ambulance she was being transported in was involved in a collision Tuesday.
Georgia State Patrol officials say that the Miller County ambulance was travelling south on Ga 45 with Leila Duvall who was being transported for flu-like symptoms.
The ambulance did not have lights or sirens activated and went to pass the fertilizer spreader in front of it, when the spreader started to turn left into a dirt road, leading to the wreck.
GSP says that the ambulance hit the spreader, went sideways into the ditch, hit the embankment and led to the vehicle flipping.
The Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team has been called in to help in the investigation.
