Ambrose man arrested for impersonating officer
According to the Douglas Enterprise, an Ambrose resident was arrested in Tattnall County for impersonating a police officer.
When responding to a civil dispute, Tattnall County deputies found Huey Hinson wearing a Coffee County Sheriff's Office uniform shirt with CCSO patches on the sleeves and the uniform pants. The shirt, however, was too small and Hinson wasn't wearing shoes. Deputies also found and took a CCSO jacket and hat from Hinson.
Hinson told police he helps out CCSO in emergencies and claimed to have a special investigator badge. Once deputies contacted the CCSO they were told he doesn't work for them and they asked if the uniform he was wearing could be confiscated.
Officers also found a firearm and various pills, believed to be Oxycodone and Soma, on Hinson.
Hinson is charged with impersonating a police officer, possession of a narcotic, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
