The longest serving president of Albany Technical College now has one more accomplishment to be proud of.

The new library at Albany Tech's Logistics Education Center was dedicated to President Dr. Anthony Parker, who is the fifth president of the college.

The Honorable Congressman Sanford Bishop presented Parker with a congressional record.

Parker was also presented with a flag that was flown over the capital in his name.

Supporters listed his accomplishments, including garnering high student enrollment, leading the rebuilding campaign after the flood of 1994 and creating a smooth transition from Albany Technical Institute to Albany Technical College as well as the transition from quarters to semesters.

Dr. Parker is also a strong advocate of adult literacy.
