Albany Tech, Georgia Southwestern State add five programs to articulation agreement
The number of ways for Southwest Georgia students to continue their education grew even bigger on Monday with a new articulation agreement between Albany Technical College and Georgia Southwestern State University.
The agreement will allow students enrolled in Albany Tech’s business, criminal justice, education, information technology and nursing programs to earn their associate’s degree, then head to GSW for their bachelor’s.
Both schools’ presidents, Dr. Anthony Parker of ATC and Dr. Neal Walker of GSW, said it’s about tapping into the potential of Southwest Georgians.
“We want to educate as many of them around Southwest Georgia as we can so they’ll be more inclined to stay and contribute in Southwest Georgia,” Parker said.
“We always want to keep doors open for students, so every pathway that leads to a college degree is a good pathway,” Walker added.
Albany Tech has similar agreements in place with 10 other schools: Albany State, Columbus State, East Georgia State, Fort Valley State, Kennesaw State, Mercer, Middle Tennessee State, Savannah State, Georgia Military College and Valdosta State.
