Albany Technical College is pleased to announce two new appointments to their staff this month.
Albany Technical College is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness as Dr. Kimberly Lee will replace Vicki Tucker and Troycia Webb as the new Dean of Academic Technology.
Dr. Lee comes to Albany Tech from the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education, where she as served as the Vice Chancellor for Adult Education for the past year. Lee holds over 23 years of experience in leadership roles that emphasize program development and services for adult learners within the adult education community.
Lee was employed with the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), Albany Tech's governing body, for over 16 years, where she held several administrative positions within the Office of Adult Education. She served as the Director of General Education Development (GED) Testing from 2006 to 2011, leading the state's initial efforts to prepare for Computer Based Testing (CBT) and the 2014 GED Test. She served as a member of the Office of Adult Education's leadership team. Prior to that, she served as the Director of Assessment, Evaluation and GED Testing, a position in which she revised the program review process and provided strategic leadership in restructuring GED Testing operations. From 1994 to 1997, Lee served as the Technical Assistance Manager and Curriculum Coordinator, playing a leadership role in the modification of the adult education and the adult secondary (GED prep) curricula.
President of Institutional Effectiveness, Lee will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the internal and external resource development plan for the college, as well as oversee grant proposals, research and gather information for data reports. She will also chair the data team for Achieving the Dream (ATD) efforts for the college and serve on the ATD Core Team. Lee will play a crucial role in helping to develop the implementation plan for ATD initiatives, which address improving student success.
Newly appointed Dean of Academic Technology Troycia Webb came to Albany Tech from Albany State University (ASU) where she has served in numerous positions over the past 11 years. While at ASU, she worked in collaboration with ASU's Educational Technology Training Center (ETTC) and the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). It was here that she discovered a passion for teaching others how to use technology just as much as she loved working with computer technology and programming. She provided regional analyst support and instructional technology support by developing and delivering technology training to K12 teachers as they learned to integrate current technologies into the classroom in 14 school districts. Through this initiative, Webb had the opportunity to present at several Georgia Educational Technology Conferences (GaETC), while working with GaETC Promote Georgia/Project Based Learning as a competition judge.
For the last five years, Webb was employed in ASU's Information Technology (IT) department, where she served as an Instructional Designer, as well as fulfilling duties with academic computing and media services. Her work efforts as the Director of Online Learning Programs supported academic initiatives and leveraged technology within the content of the university's mission of preparing students for lifelong learning, leadership and careers in a changing multicultural world.
