      Albany State student passes away

      An Albany State student from Atlanta has passed away according to information released by the university.

      ASU officials have identified that student as 22-year-old mass communication major Jarrett Lango, who was found in his apartment at Hidden Oaks.

      Albany police were called to make a welfare check after Lango returned home from Atlanta and was not returning phone calls.

      The Albany Fire Department was called to make entry into the apartment and found Lango unresponsive.

      Celestine Steele, a neighbor is still in shock.

      "I can't began to imagine, he came down here to go to school his family comes back to get his body. it's sad, it's sad."

      Albany State's Counseling Center is offering drop-in grief counseling from noon to 5 p.m. and by appointment after normal business hours on July 1.

      The Dougherty County Coroner is investigating the death and is waiting for toxicology reports.
