The Albany Police Department is sending warnings to those who promote "The Purge" on social media sites.

The posters are making the rounds on social media like Facebook and Twitter this week. They are promoting "The Purge" which is based on a horror film with the same name where all crime is legal for a 24-hour period.

Other cities in Georgia have seen them too.

Albany police officers have the names of several posters and they will be making home visits warning them that they could be charged with inciting criminal activity.

APD officers also encourage citizens to report any suspicious activity.
