Albany police want to help Crime Stoppers tipster
A Crime Stoppers tipster that was supposed to get a substantial reward might no receive any reward after a clerical error.
Albany police say they received a tip from Crime Stoppers for a high profile case between 11 and 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
However, due to mix up, a tipster was provided the incorrect information regarding their reward according to Albany police.
Due to the nature of the Crime Stoppers program, the caller was anonymous so APD does not have a way to contact the person.
Albany police say that they only received one call during the time frame and if you're the person that left the tip, you are asked call back in to Crime Stoppers.
No word from APD on what case the tip was connected to.
