Albany police say lock your car doors

65 car break ins have happened over the past month

Albany police are asking folks to lock up their cars.

Police say 65 car break-ins have been reported in the last month, many were not from forced entry. Items stolen include various electronics and guns. Sergeant Edward Heath says the most common stolen item was purses. "Women leave their purses on the seats- say they are just going to be in the store a second- but that's all it takes is a few seconds to steal your purse," says Heath

The break-ins are happening in both residential and commercial areas.
