Albany police make arrest in salon robbery
Fri, 11 May 2012 17:45:00 GMT — The Albany Police Department has made an arrest after an armed robbery of an Albany hair salon.Investigators say that Thursday evening around 9:25 PM, 27-year-old James Tyrone Parker entered TLC Hair Salon at 1103 West Gordon Avenue and demanded money from the customers and employees at gunpoint. He took several purses and left the business. Victims were able to present a detailed description of Parker to police.Albany police then said they took the information and started to canvas the area around the business including an apartment complex. Park was recognized by one of the officers from the description and was apprehended as he was walking into his apartment. He was then taken into custody and transported to the Law Enforcement Center for questioning.Albany Police Department representative Phyllis Whitley-Banks says that Parker has been charged with armed robbery.
