Albany police issue scam alert over Federal Reserve grant

Thu, 12 Sep 2013 19:22:23 GMT — The Albany Police Department is issuing a a scam alert after citizens in Southwest Georgia have had their money stolen.Police officials say that the scam artist is using the Federal Reserve Bank out of New York to promise the victim an $8,000 grant if they send money.Officials say that multiple people have sent funds, some in excess of $900, to the scam artist.The Financial Crimes Unit with APD warns that this is a scam and do not send money to receive money.
