Albany police in search of armed robbers

Albany police officials are reporting that one arrest has been made in a Saturday night armed robbery case.

34-year-old, Michael Whitaker has been taken into custody and chraged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm, and possession of cocaine. The search continues for the second suspect.

No details have been released on the second suspect in this case.


Albany Police are in the Magnolia-Gillionville-Maryland area searching for two robbery suspects.

One suspect is considered armed, Police are still investigating if the second suspect is also armed. The suspects are described as black males wearing army green camo pants, one a black hoodie and the other a black puffy jacket.

These two men robbed a victim, Richard Reeder, at gun point at the Sleep Inn on Dawson Road and fled the scene. The victim's wallet and keys to his work truck were stolen.

No report of injuries at this time.
