Albany police holding Community Awareness Day
The Albany Police Department will spend Saturday reaching out to victims to domestic violence.
The Family Protection Unit is hosting Community Awareness Day in conjunction with the Lily Pad Sexual Assault Center and Liberty House.
Police officials say they see too many repeat victims of domestic violence and want to stop the cycle of abuse before it's too late.
"We want to be able to get out there and let them know that before you get to that point, we have resources available to you and there is help," said Det. Kawaski Barnes.
Community Awareness Day will be held at 1032 West Gordon Avenue from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
