Albany police arrest a man involved in a Friday morning aggravated assault.

Albany police announced that Michael Thomas will be charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during a crime for the shots fired at Joseph Graper and aggravated assault for ramming the rear of his wife's vehicle.

Initial Story
Joseph Graper, a newspaper deliverer, was stopped by an unknown black male in a Chevy 1500, who accused him of being at his estranged wife's house, shortly after 4:00 A.M. in the 1300 Block of Willie Pitts.

The victim drove off and the suspect fired a gun at him striking the rear of his vehicle.

Later Friday morning, around 5:00 A.M., the suspect was following his estranged wife and rammed the rear of her vehicle with his truck in the 300 Block of East Oglethorpe.

Albany Police Officer Mitchell was flagged down by the victim, Santamigo Thomas, who reported the incident.

The suspect and vehicle were located in the 200 Block of South Davis where the suspect took flight on foot.

He was taken into custody in the rear of 730 West Highland where a gun was recovered.
