A job posting for the Albany City Manager has popped up at multiple places online including the International City/County Management Association , Monster , and GovernmentJobs .Assistant City Manager Wes Smith says City Manager James Taylor is expected to leave before his two-year contract is up, which was just renewed in January.
City Commissioner Roger Marietta says the city manager indicated he was thinking about retirement last year.
"In the back of his mind he was already thinking about stepping down however he has some important tasks like the budget he wants to accomplish before he leaves," Marietta said.
The next step is for the commission to start looking for a replacement when Taylor does announce his official retirement.
