Albany Middle School kicks off reading program
The theme for this year's 25 book campaign kickoff is, "Reading on the big tops." Each student is encouraged to read a minimum of 25 books this school year. Parents and partners from the community were invited to show their support. Some teachers dressed up in circus attire as a book theme.
Principal Gloria Baker says the kids are excited to take part in it because of the participation prize when the event finishes.
"It concludes in May and usually it concludes with a field trip to either Wild Adventures or Six Flags so they're always excited about knowing what their last piece is going to be and they work very hard to be a part of that," said Baker.
